Chris Smith
Managing Director
How did your journey with us start?
Back in 2014 I was running the Sage division for another large Business Partner and tried to headhunt Richard Brewster to join us. When I spoke to Rich, I thought his story was better than mine, so the script was flipped and the rest is history!
What is your role and what does your day-to-day look like?
My days are very varied which is probably my favourite thing about my role. As Managing Director, I’m obviously responsible for strategy and all the “big picture” stuff. But I like to lead from the front, so am still very much customer facing. I also spend lots of time working with our various teams, especially sales and marketing, on new ideas, plans and generally trying to make us a tiny bit better every day.
What’s your favourite PKF SCS memory?
There have been many, from awards, big customer wins and acquisitions to nights out and events. The biggest game changer was the acquisition of Uniq in 2017. My proudest moment has to be when we were named Sage’s Customer Success Partner of the Year in 2023. But, my favourite moments are always seeing us in the mix at the top of the Sage league tables.
What are you most excited about in our future?
I think it’s genuinely a really exciting time to be a Sage Business Partner, and I’m looking forward to seeing the company evolve in line with the various new product developments for Sage 200 and Sage Intacct. I’m also looking forward to meeting new colleagues, achieving further milestones on our growth plan and celebrating them with the team.
