Craig Taylor
Project Services Director
How did your journey with us start?
I have worked with Chris Smith since I began my career as a Sage 200 Consultant way back in 2004. Having worked closely together for such a long time, when he chose to move and become a director at PKF SCS in 2014 he invited me to join him, and I have never looked back.
I developed our service delivery approach. Designing and implementing our project methodology to have a consistent, professional, flexible and customer-focused approach.
What is your role and what does your day-to-day look like?
My role is quite varied really. A lot of what I do is having overall responsibility for the Project Services team. Managing the team and overseeing the projects they are working on. So, a lot of Project Management including Project Scoping, Planning, Issue / Risk Management and acting as a Project Escalations contact for customers.
As well as this I also implement my own Projects, so I still like to get my hands dirty with Installations, Training, Configuration, Data Migrations and ongoing support assistance.
In 2025 we have also started developing our own products for Sage 200, with our Staged Payments Module. I have been product managing this and we have some other exciting ideas we want to productise that I will be managing.
What’s your favourite PKF SCS memory?
I have a few things to choose from. We have had some great social events, including a ten-pin bowling evening that I won. Also, the intercompany matches between us and the rest of the PKF Smith Cooper group companies across the road at Pride Park Stadium have been very enjoyable as well as competitive. Playing in goal I have made some impressive saves including a penalty and an acrobatic tip over the bar, of which I have a great photo hanging on the wall behind my desk.
I had to get those in!
More seriously, it has been great to see us grow and mature as a company of the years. Winning different awards, particularly the Sage Customer Success Partner of the Year and Sage BMS Partner of the year. From a personal point of view, it is probably being promoted to Project Services Director, of which I am enormously proud.
What are you most excited about in our future?
I am looking forward to continuing our growth as a company, working with existing and new customers alike to make improvements to their processes and business.
Sage Intacct is certainly a key product area for our business, with my Project Services team being a driving factor in the success we have had so far. It will certainly be exciting to see this area of the business continue to blossom.
We have also expanded the Project Management offering within our Project Services team, as we continue to work hard and provide new ways to ensure the best possible service, direction and support for our customers during our project implementations.
