David Saunders
Technical Team Leader
How did your journey with us start?
My journey started before PKF Smith Cooper Systems was formed as a company. Back then were simply a part of Smith Cooper. I met our technical director Richard Brewster at my previous employer where Richard was leading the project to set up Sage MMS (this is now Sage 200). This business then went under, and Richard asked me to join the support team, I said yes, and I have never looked back after almost 18 years.
What is your role and what does your day-to-day look like?
My Role as Technical Team Leader is never the same day to day. Mainly working with more complex implementations of Sage 200, report writing and assisting the consultancy team with any weird and wonderful problems that they run into.
What’s your favourite PKF SCS memory?
My favourite memory at Smith Cooper would be the intercompany game we played at Pride Park. Leading our team out as captain for the first time was amazing. This game was a friendly match between us and PKF Smith Cooper. We used the players changing rooms and played a full 90 minutes on the pitch. It was a wonderful experience to get together and have some fun!
What are you most excited about in our future?
Seeing our teams grow, from where we were when I first joined (a team of 6) to where we are now (pushing 70 staff) and where we are going. It’s so great to see the quality and talent of everyone around us.
