Sam Pidgeon
Sage Intacct Product Lead
How did your journey with us start?
I had worked with Chris Smith, our Managing Director, in a previous life. He reached out to me at a point I was considering a career change, so it was perfect timing. As you do, we met at a service station on the M1 for a chat and a coffee, and things escalated from there.
What is your role and what does your day-to-day look like?
One thing is for sure, it’s not the same day by day. Since we onboarded Sage Intacct, we’ve built a team covering support, consultancy, development and pre-sales. While a lot of my job is sales focused, leading the team means I get involved in all areas.
On any given day I can be involved in prospect calls, live demo’s, team meetings, projects, contract negotiations, software development, working with ISV’s and meeting with customers. So, it’s safe to say I wear a number of hats!
What’s your favourite PKF SCS memory?
Tricky one! I enjoyed the trip to Barcelona in 2025 for the Sage Business Partner conference, Sage Futures FY26. Not just for the location, but the content and opportunities to network were incredible.
Picking up awards at Sage’s yearly partner kick off events definitely stands out. One occasion that definitely isn’t my favourite, but was certainly memorable, was a trip from Derby to Telford for one of the Sage events. I was subject to a melody of Disney musical songs at full blast all the way, delivered by Chris, Vic and Julie. I had no idea it was Chris’s guilty pleasure!
What are you most excited about in our future?
Over the past couple of years, there has been a change of direction in the business and across the Sage world concerning Sage Intacct. It is now at the forefront of many conversations, and more of our staff are getting involved. I’m excited about the continued growth of this part of the business and what it will look like in another 12 months and beyond.
On the software side, AI is something we can’t escape, I’m intrigued to see where this goes in the next few years. Sage are already doing exciting things with AI, with more to come in the future. I can’t wait to see what that will look like.
