Sage Intacct AI Gateway is a secure connection layer that allows approved AI tools to read and analyse data stored within Sage Intacct.
It essentially acts as a bridge between your finance system and modern AI applications, so you can use the AI tools you already have more effectively.
Instead of exporting spreadsheets and creating reports manually, users can ask questions in natural language and receive answers based on live financial data.
How Does it Work?
Behind the scenes, Sage Intacct AI Gateway uses a combination of REST APIs and Sage Intacct’s MCP Server to create a secure connection between Sage Intacct and external AI tools.
The MCP server translates Sage Intacct data into a format which AI can understand and use to generate results.
When you ask a question in Claude, Microsoft Copilot or another compatible tool, AI Gateway helps it find the right information in Sage Intacct.

What Can Sage Intacct AI Gateway Do?
AI Gateway is currently focussed on core financial areas, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Cash Management and Order Entry.
Access is currently read-only, meaning that AI cannot create, edit or post anything. It’s primarily used to explore data, create summaries and generate insights.
Examples of what you could ask:
- “Show me my unpaid invoices due this month.”
- “Which customers have the largest aged debt balances?”
- “What were the biggest cost increases compared to last month?”
- “Summarise the financial performance of our group entities.”
- “Show me revenue trends by department.”
Which AI Platforms Does it Work With?
Sage Intacct AI Gateway is compatible with any LLM that supports MCP, including Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and custom AI platforms.
This flexibility means you’re free to choose the AI tools that best suit your business, and the same connection method can be used for multiple different AI platforms.
Important Note: Once your data leaves Sage Intacct and is in the hands of a third-party AI platform, it’s no longer protected by Sage’s security and data handling policies. Before connecting any AI tool to your financial data, always ensure you understand how the provider will manage your information.
