Power BI: Supplier Performance Dashboard in Sage 200

Power BI is a powerful tool that provides clear oversight across all areas of your business. This visibility is essential for ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently. With its intuitive visual dashboards, Power BI enables you to quickly assess performance at a glance – eliminating the need to dig through detailed reports or conduct time-consuming investigations.

The stacked bar chart on the left provides a clear visual overview of supplier performance, allowing us to monitor late, early, and on-time deliveries at a glance. Its graphical format makes it easy to assess performance quickly and accurately eliminating the need for manual calculations or time-consuming data analysis.

On the right, a detailed table presents the underlying statistics, showing the quantity of early and late orders along with the number of days each delivery deviates from the expected date. This level of detail helps us assess not only how often delays or early deliveries occur, but also the severity and overall impact of the issue.

You can also isolate individual suppliers to identify those contributing most significantly to late or early deliveries. The resulting report output can then be shared directly with those suppliers, providing clear, data-driven evidence to support performance discussions and corrective actions.

By selecting an individual month on the stacked bar chart, the table on the right automatically updates to display the corresponding order details. This allows you to quickly identify which suppliers are driving any unusual or skewed results, enabling faster and more informed follow-up actions.

On the next page, we provide a summary of purchasing value presented in several different ways.

Firstly, we highlight the top 15 suppliers. If the year filter is set to ‘All‘, you can view purchase values broken down by year. This enables you to clearly see trends over time – identifying which suppliers your spending with is increasing and which suppliers you are purchasing less from.

Next, we include a month-by-month comparison, allowing you to identify seasonal trends or patterns in purchasing activity. This insight helps determine when spending typically increases or decreases, enabling more accurate forecasting and better-informed budget adjustments.

Finally, we include a treemap that displays the total value spent within each product group. The size of each box represents the level of spend, making it easy to visualise the differences between product categories and quickly identify where the majority of purchasing value is concentrated.

All visuals on the page can be adjusted using the filters at the top, allowing you to present the data in different ways depending on your focus.

In addition, the visuals include drill-down functionality. By right-clicking on any of them and selecting ‘Drill Through’, you can drill through to the underlying individual orders, enabling deeper analysis and a more detailed understanding of the data.
