Explore what a WOP Production dashboard looks like in Power BI
As one of the leading suppliers of Manufacturing solutions for Sage software, we have been asked to produce a number of dashboards to allow management, production teams, procurement teams and users to have instant access to what could be critical decision-making data.

This data may be along the lines of what is due for production in this firm plan period, what is late, and are any orders at risk? We could also review our WIP and what stock is with subcontractors – any Sage data is presentable. It could be retrospective reporting on Actual vs Budget from a cost or time utilisation perspective.
In this dashboard, we aim to provide the production team with a simple view of “where are we right now”.
So, let’s get started so that you can give it a go for yourself!
If you have not used Power BI before, or wish to refresh your memory, check out the quick tutorial we have put together which demonstrates how to navigate through Power BI.
WOP Production Dashboard

The first dashboard presents all of the Works Orders (internal build instructions) that are currently in the system. We have then graded them based on their due date to show any that are late, within our firm plan (assumed 7 days), and planned for the future.
We are presenting this data in a clear visual format by colour coding the orders and showing a count of these as a clear display. We are also giving the user the ability to filter by area/location. This will help to see if we have a bottleneck in our site.

Users can also filter by customer if the works order is against a Sales Order. Maybe a customer is chasing or you want to rank your production based on customer.
Once the list is presented, the user can drill into any order to see the underlying data. This includes the explosion of parts with their status.
Additionally, the user can then see what parts we are waiting for, how many we need and if we have stock or if it’s on order.

We have also included a tab for the current Purchase Order position. We often have users in production who need a view of the procurement system, if only for a “when is it due, is it even ordered yet?!” enquiry.
For this, the user can filter by supplier and status. Other filters could also be added such as product group, product code or even the WO preallocated to that PO.
Now that we’ve gone through the WOP Production dashboard step-by-step, why not try our free interactive dashboard to have a go in navigating around this report yourself?
