Around 240 Sage Intacct enhancements were introduced in 2024, many inspired by customer suggestions!
Sage actively listens to feedback from their Early Adopter Programs and Product Feedback Panel to shape the future of their products.
The latest enhancements are designed to save you time, prevent mistakes, and provide better insights. Let’s dive into some of the hidden gems added this past year.
1. Restrict Contacts for AP and AR Transactions
This gives you the ability to limit which contacts are available for selection in the ‘Pay to’ and ‘Return to’ dropdown lists.
Previously, the only option was to select from all active contacts in your company, which took longer and increased the risk of mistakes.
Now, you can simplify the list by choosing from 3 settings.

2. Enhancements to the Posted Payments Screen
Credit entries now appear as separate line items with an ‘unapply’ link. This enhancement enables you to quickly and easily unapply credits where they’re applied without an associated payment.
‘Void’ links are now conveniently located on the posted payments screen which makes it much quicker to void payments all from the same place, regardless of the original payment method.

3. Bank Transaction Assistant File Import
The new way to import your bank transactions for reconciliation.
- A centralised location for all imported transactions and bank accounts
- Supports more file types
- Ability to adjust permissions to control who can import bank transactions
- Keep track of imports with the activity log

4. Enhanced Email Delivery and Insights
The enhanced email delivery service uses DKIM to ensure your emails reach their intended recipients quickly and reliably. It also includes an email log which shows the delivery status of your emails by recipient.
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) – an email authentication method designed to help protect your domain against scammers. It uses digital signatures (which aren’t visible to the end-users) to verify that the emails have been sent from the domain they claim to be from and haven’t been modified.
5. Usage Insights
Uncover hidden insights in your data with usage insights. It shows you real-time insights across your whole company so you can optimise processes, identify growth opportunities and make confident choices.
Key areas include:
- Active customer and vendor growth
- User activity (such as logins)
- Number of locations per entity
- Customer growth & locations
- Supplier growth & locations
- AP purchase invoices over time
- API integration usage
API integration usage shows the success rate of your API calls and their distribution across your system.

6. Deleting Multiple Reporting Periods
On the reporting period list, the delete links have been replaced with checkboxes and a delete button at the top of the list. This enables you to quickly select the periods you want to delete, which is especially useful if you’re deleting multiple periods at once.

7. Tracing Original Transactions for Purchasing Workflows
There’s now an originating document ID field which links to the previous document in your purchasing workflow, so you can trace it all the way back to your original transaction.

This helps you to:
- Refer to the previous document in the workflow
- Identify the original transaction in the workflow
- Generate more informative purchase transaction reports
- Identify and report on reconciliation issues and take corrective action
- Achieve greater inventory reconciliation accuracy
8. Version History for Financial Reports
If the results generated by your financial reports appear off, it could mean the report settings have been changed. Following the release of 2024 R1, each time you save a report in the Financial Report Writer, a new version is saved in the report history.
In the report history you can see a list of the versions, who created them and when. By clicking into the version, you can see the report settings, preview the results or restore the version. This maintains the integrity of your financial reports and means you don’t have to rebuild them if something goes wrong.
