Who is Sage?
Sage is one of the world’s leading software companies, constituent of the FTSE 100 and a market leader for integrated accounting, payroll, and business management systems.
Company History
It all started when David Goldman, a print business owner, wanted to automate his estimating and accounting processes. David worked with a team from Newcastle University to develop the software, including Dr Paul Muller, a computer expert who worked with NASA, and student Graham Wylie. Together, they formed Sage in 1981 to start selling the software to more businesses.
Sage is still headquartered in Newcastle today, but now their reach has grown to 20 countries, with millions of customers and 11,000 employees.
