PKF Smith Cooper Systems (PKF SCS) has successfully hosted their second Sage Symposium for 2025 at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, Reading.
Following on from the hugely successful Sage Symposium held at Pride Park Stadium, Derby, earlier on in the year, PKF SCS decided to take the show on the road to the South!
The event was very well attended by both customers and prospective customers, who were drawn to attend by an exciting agenda which covered a variety of new developments for finance teams such as AI and advanced use of Microsoft Power BI, with specific focus on Sage 200 and Sage Intacct.
A stunning view of the stadium greeted our attendees as they entered the Royal Suite, as well as some tea, coffee and hot bacon and sausage breakfast rolls.
Chris Smith, Managing Director at PKF SCS, kickstarted the event with a warm welcome, an overview of the day and an eye-opening keynote on ‘The Shift to Smarter Finance’, which included a great insight into the changing role of the Finance Function, How Sage Software can help, moving beyond legacy systems and more.
Next up were some demonstrations on how Sage 200 and Sage Intacct power smarter finance with the use of cloud technology, smarter insights, AI automation and MS Power BI. These talks were delivered by Richard Brewster, Technical Director at PKF SCS, whose Power BI presentation included clever audience participation, and Piers Tom, Senior Solution Consultant from Sage, who shared his formidable expertise on AI for Sage Intacct.
After a short break, it was time to breakout into two sessions; one focusing on Sage 200’s roadmap, new features and web screens which was well-received by the audience and led by Richard Torr, Sage 200 Sales Manager At PKF SCS, and the other session addressing Sage Intacct’s roadmap, new features and a more intimate breakout discussion on Sage Intacct as a whole where there was much audience engagement, led by Piers Tom.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a PKF SCS event if people left with no goodies, so everyone received a Sage tote bag with PKF SCS stationery, a Sage branded water bottle and notepad, PKF SCS brochures, and our classic personalised Cadbury chocolate bar donned with some on-brand accounting jokes. The highly popular prize draw also made another appearance, with people winning a range of prizes from Sage merchandise (including a NorthFace bag, Sage stationery, a Stanley Cup and a Sage branded jacket) and Amazon vouchers, to Apple AirPods.
Event Feedback
Feedback from the Symposium South was nothing but positive with a record-breaking number of prospects attending, alongside loyal and valued customers! Those who attended highly complimented the amount of knowledge and information shared, and how our speakers made extra effort to go through demos with them outside of the talks – another reason why they are the ‘Good Sage Guys to Deal With’.
