Coming Soon: Sage 200 2024 R2

Here’s what you can expect in October’s release

Sage 200 has 2 new releases per year, R1 and R2 which include improvements, new features and more to enhance the user experience.

Ahead of the new Sage 200 2024 R2 release coming soon, we’re sharing a couple of the enhancements that you can expect to see in the new version and a recap of the Sage 200 Product Lifecycle.

Sage 200 Product Lifecycle

As part of the product lifecycle, older versions move to extended support and end of support. This is standard industry practice and allows Sage to concentrate resources on newer versions and the continued development of the system.

Extended Support

These versions are currently extended support:

• Version 12.00.0047 (2022 R2)
• Version 12.00.0046 (2022 R1)

When your version is in extended support, your system will still work, and we will continue to support you as normal. However, Sage will stop releasing legislative changes, patches and bug fixes for any defects that arise. Following extended support, old versions will pass into the end of support phase.

End of Support

These versions are in end of support:

• Version 12.00.0043 (2021 R1)
• Any versions older than 2021 R1, check the lifecycle policy for full details.

When your version is end of support, your system will still work, and we’ll continue to support you. However, we won’t be able to escalate any issues to Sage’s 2nd line technical support and you’ll be unable to purchase modules. Once your version has passed 24 months in the end of support phase, you’ll also be unable to purchase users.

Please note: end of support versions will not be guaranteed compliance with any new releases or security patches released by Microsoft, regarding their operating systems and Office 365 components.

If you’re unsure what version you’re using, you can check this within your Sage 200 system. Navigate to Settings ⚙️ > About Sage 200 and check the Version.

What’s New in Sage 200 2024 R2

Here’s a sneak peek at what should be coming in the new release:

Sage Network – The Sage Network is a new and exciting initiative with big plans. But for now we will focus on its ability to free-up your time by automating manual processes and give your customers 24/7 access to invoices via a secure link.

Bank Feeds – Export your transactions direct from your bank and import into Sage 200, this will allow you to control the frequency of the imports. There is also a mechanism to import if a specific bank is not currently available in the connected bank feeds service. So, you can link to banks that are not already supported

The Sage 200 Roadmap is an overview of what improvements have been made, what’s coming soon, and you can also vote for what you want to see in future releases.
