Sage 200 2024 R2 New Release Information

Sage 200 2024 R2 is finally here!

Now that the new release has landed, we have more details about the exciting new features and enhancements. As you’d expect, the release includes security updates to the core product and connected services, plus some enhancements based on customer feedback. However, that’s not all! Read on to find out more about this release and the versions that are reaching end of support.

Bank Feeds

The new Transaction Import feature will enable you to export your bank transactions and import the file into Sage 200. This will give you more flexibility to control the frequency of imports and enable you to import from banks that aren’t already supported via the existing bank feeds functionality.

Following some changes to the Bank Feeds service, you may need to run a brief update next time you use bank feeds.

Reference Field Character Limit

Customers voted on the ideas portal to increase the character limits on reference fields, reporting issues with entering long vendor reference numbers. To rectify this, Sage have increased the character limit for references and second references to 40 characters. This change applies for customer transactions, supplier transactions and nominal transactions.

Sales Order Processing Dates

Another enhancement which came from the ideas portal is updating the requested and promised dates for orders, quotes and proformas. You will now have the option to cascade date changes to all line items, replacing the need to update each item manually.

Coming Soon: Sage Network & Sage Connect

Sage is introducing Sage Network to bring businesses together through connected accounting. The vision is to synchronise and automate financial transactions and processes across businesses, including those that aren’t using Sage, cutting down processing times and late payments.

The first step to achieving this is the new Sage Connect App powered by Sage Network, which will connect seamlessly to Sage 200 using a cutting-edge data connector. There’s a whole host of different features being built, such as AR Automation.

AR Automation

Designed to help you get paid faster with less effort through Accounts Receivable automation features, including:

• Automated customer onboarding and verification to ensure invoices correct from the beginning
• Customers will get a 24/7 view of invoices, amount due and payment status through a secure platform
• Schedule, send and track payment reminders and invoicing communications

Sage Network and Sage Connect are currently going through testing before being rolled out to all Sage 200 customers.

Retirement of Services

These services have been retired as part of the release:

• Sage 200 Standard – Opening Balance Migration Tool
• Sage 200 Standard – Contact App

In February 2025, the following releases will change support status:

• 2023 R1 and R2 – extended support
• 2022 R1 – end of support

Extended support – your system will still work and we will continue to support you as normal, but Sage will stop releasing legislative changes, patches and bug fixes for any defects that arise.

End of support – your system will still work and we will continue to support you. However, we won’t be able to escalate any issues to Sage and you’ll be unable to purchase modules. Once the version has passed 24 months end of support, you’ll also be unable to purchase users.
