Here’s What’s New in Sage 200 Professional and Standard!
Sage continues to deliver regular updates and improvements to ensure you’re getting the best performance and functionality from your Sage software. Many of these updates are based on real feedback from users, as part of Sage’s commitment to innovation.
The latest Sage 200 release has arrived, and in this article, we inform you of the key enhancements you should know about for both Sage 200 Professional and Sage 200 Standard.
Web Screens for Commercials
Available for both Sage 200 Professional and Standard, there are now web screens which enable remote flexibility with web-based stock allocation screens.
This new feature for allocating and amending stock, means warehouse and operations teams can now work from anywhere. This supports hybrid/remote workers and reduces reliance on desktop installations. The new web screens include Sales Orders to allocate stock, and Sales Orders to amend allocations.
Automated Login Management
For Sage 200 Professional users only, you can now minimise downtime and support your workload with automated login management. This enhancement was a top-voted idea by users and enables automatic clearing of disconnected logins every 30 minutes in Sage 200 Professional. This reduces user lockouts, support tickets, and improves overall system stability.
User Role Reports
In response to customer feedback, there are now user role reports which allow enhanced visibility and audit readiness. This Sage 200 Professional-only feature allows XML export of role-feature mappings, giving IT managers and auditors a clear view of permissions and reduces the need for manual tracking.
Read-Only User Roles
Read-only user roles have been introduced to help simplify compliance for both Sage 200 Professional and Standard users. This long-requested feature introduces predefined roles and XML templates, enabling faster setup, consistent access control, and reduced implementation time. This new feature supports audit readiness and lowers onboarding costs.
Keyboard Shortcuts
In both Sage 200 Professional and Standard, you can now accelerate journal entry with function key shortcuts. Finance teams can now use keyboard shortcuts for common journal tasks, improving speed and reducing repetitive mouse clicks. This bridges a key usability gap with Sage 50 and enhances productivity.
Please note, this currently excludes insert row (coming in a later release).
Import/Export Enhancements
In both Sage 200 Professional and Standard, stock controllers can now bulk update ‘Country of Origin’ via import/export templates, saving hours of manual work. This also ensures consistent data for trade and audit purposes.
Additionally, procurement teams can now manage supplier data at scale, reducing manual entry and errors. This supports large inventories and improves operational efficiency.
Installation Enhancements
Available for both Sage 200 Professional and Standard, users can now deliver a modern and improved experience with high DIP support. Sage 200 now scales properly on high-resolution monitors, improving readability and accessibility for users in modern IT environments, and reducing support tickets related to display issues. Please note, this is for desktop only (web screens already have the functionality).
Additionally, a handy visual enhancement to your ledgers can help with differentiation and reduced errors. New colour-coded UI (user interface) for Sales and Purchase Ledgers helps you to quickly identify the correct module, reducing mis-entries and improving confidence in financial data accuracy.
New Sage 200 API Extension
There is a new API extension for Sage 200 Professional which opens the door to a wider ecosystem of applications (ISV Solutions). The new API extension also increases the services and automation workflows available, allowing you to connect your business and build a truly custom-made solution to meet your specific business’s needs.
