First of Sage Copilot’s Features Released for Intacct Users
Sage’s AI productivity assistant, Sage Copilot, has been undergoing rigorous testing and development since its initial release for early adopters.
Now, with the release of Sage Intacct 2025 R1, all Sage Intacct users can experience the first of the Sage Copilot’s features – Variance Analysis.
But that’s not all! Keep reading for your latest update on all things Sage Copilot.
What is Sage Copilot?
Sage Copilot brings the power of generative AI right into the Sage interface, transforming how you work by automating tasks, offering insights and providing proactive recommendations. Almost like an airline co-pilot, Sage Copilot will be by your side to help take your business to new heights.
Dan Miller, EVP Financials & ERP Division at Sage summed up the vision for Copilot:

Sage Copilot Features
Available Now: Variance Analysis
Variance Analysis is now generally available, giving leaders the tools to proactively investigate discrepancies and address spending concerns throughout the month, not just after month end.
Here’s how it works:
- Monitors budget variances and prior-period differences for you
- Sends automated alerts when actual expenses exceed budgets
- Links to reports so you can verify details and identify the cause
- Visualisations show a picture of your financial health at a glance
This feature will cut down the time it takes to check for budget variances and help you address spending concerns as they arise.
Coming Soon: Search Help
When using a system as extensive as Sage Intacct, it can be challenging to remember how to do everything. That’s where Search Help comes in handy!
Users can ask Copilot questions about the system and get quick answers that are easy to understand. This reduces the time spent researching or contacting support, so users don’t have to disrupt their day looking for answers.
Search Help is being gradually rolled out in phases. The first phase was released as part of 2025 R1, and more users will be able to use it in future releases.
Early Adopter: Close Assistant
This feature will help you see the close status for all your entities and subledgers in one place, making it easier to keep track of what has been done and what’s still outstanding.
Close Assistant also contains links to take you straight to the relevant areas of the system, shaving time off completing common month end tasks.
Currently, this feature is only available for early adopters. Sage is gathering feedback from the early adopter program to help shape the functionality around the needs of real users and bring you the best features.
Sage Copilot & PKF SCS
The release has created a buzz in our Intacct team, and we’re very excited to see Sage Copilot in action. We asked our Sage Intacct Product Lead, Sam Pidgeon to share his thoughts:
