Sage Intacct 2025 R4 Highlights
The last quarterly release of 2025 is here!
As always, there are lots of enhancements packed into this release. Covering not only core functionality like Copilot and Collaborate, but additional modules too including Fixed Assets Management, Equity Consolidation and so much more.
In this article, we’ll run through the highlights from R4.
Close Workspace is Now Generally Available
After a period of user testing, the Close Workspace is now available to all UK and US users. It offers a centralised space for managing the period-close process, helping the whole team work together with enhanced visibility and efficiency.
There are 3 main tools in Close Workspace:
- Close Checklists
Helps team members track their tasks, while managers can see everyone’s progress all in one place. This also helps you establish a set close procedure and use notifications to manage due dates, dependencies and outstanding tasks.
- Close Progress Monitor
Provides a visual way to track how the period-close is progressing across all tasks and assignees. Filters allow you to see progress by checklist, entity and/or reporting period. Visibility of assignee names is only available for those with permission.
- Integration with Sage Collaborate
Brings all communications directly into the close workspace, linking messages and files to the relevant task or checklist. This eliminates the need for external apps, makes tracking progress easier and maintains records for auditing.

Enhancements to Sage Copilot
There have been 2 new enhancements for the AI assistant, Sage Copilot:
- Draft Emails in Close Workspace and Variance Analysis
You can now use Copilot to help you write emails for task alerts or variance review, adjusting the tone, formality and length as needed.
- Search Help – Expanded Language Support
Search Help is now available in all supported languages, so more people can ask Copilot system-related questions and get answers faster.

New Transaction Options for Customer Statements
There’s a new way to select which transactions you want included when you’re running customer statements.
This enhancement will help you easily identify and select which transactions will appear in the statement without having to view it first.

Support For Term Discounts for Taxes
If you’re using a standard or custom tax solution in the Taxes application, you can now capture taxes on term discounts in Accounts Receivable and Order Entry transactions.
Now, you can set the calculation method for your discount terms to meet the requirements of your operating country. Options include line items total (excluding taxes), line items total (including taxes) and invoice total (including taxes and added charges.)

Automate Equity Consolidation Method
The equity consolidation method in ownership structures is now generally available for users with Sage Intacct Advanced Ownership Consolidation. This automatically records a subsidiary’s ownership net income to the parent entity or entities user-defined book based on ownership percentage.
This ensures ownership transparency by recording and tracking changes by period, as well as supporting subsidiary rollup to multiple parents with multiple levels. Enabling the affiliate entity dimension also provides greater flexibility and accuracy in reporting.

Construction Module
This release includes several enhancements for the Construction module:
- Assign default tax schedules for purchasing on projects, with the ability to override it at the task or cost type levels for authorised users.
- Retainage release details now display in 4 areas for easier access, including: AP retainage release, AP purchase invoice, AR retainable release and AR sales invoice.
- Option to allow unrestricted billing amount for progress-based contract lines, instead of using change management or revising line amounts manually.
Plus, a few enhancements to work in progress (WIP) management:
- Control if WIP schedules include projects with no job to date costs or billings.
- New buttons in WIP schedules to easily set project costs and billings to complete.
- Soon, you’ll be able to view project cost breakdown from the WIP history page – this is currently being tested by early adopters.

Fixed Assets Management
The Fixed Assets Management module has lots of new updates including:
- New asset creation options allow you to create multiple assets or skip asset creation from an AP purchase invoice or purchasing transaction line.
- You can now partly dispose of an asset while continuing to depreciate the remaining value for more precise depreciation management.
- Editing dimensions directly on assets in service without needing to perform an asset transfer or generate journal entries if it’s within the same entity.
- Switch the historical accumulated depreciation setting between system calculated and manual entry depreciation at any time.
- Edit the name of an asset in the ready for review or in-service states, without changing the original name on the source transaction for audit purposes.

Sage Collaborate is Replacing Intacct Collaborate
Sage Collaborate is the next generation of Sage’s real-time communication tool. It helps your team communicate directly within records to share updates, resolve issues and share documents, instead of switching between emails and apps.
With a centralised space for updates and collaboration within the context of records, your team can work together as one and move faster. It’s currently available to all new companies. If you’re an existing Sage Intacct user, look out for an alert when you’re eligible for migration to Sage Collaborate.
Other Enhancements in This Release
There are a few other enhancements, including:
- More filtering options in the AP Ledger report to help you refine your data to target a specific supplier or multiple at once.
- Set up auto-generated payment IDs for AP advances to help you easily reference and trace AP advances in lists and reports.
- Combine bank fees with debit or credit transactions using the reconciliation rules to combine credit and debit lines.
- Option to include unposted transactions in GL reports for better financial visibility and to assist with reconciliation and auditing.
