Discover how to use the Cim 200 Manufacturing Scheduling Tool
The Cim 200 Manufacturing Scheduler is a graphical scheduling tool that allows you to plan your works order production schedule based on your resource availability.
In this Tip of the Week, we discuss how to use the scheduling tool in Cim 200 Manufacturing to plan your production.
Additionally, you can watch the short video here to better your understanding.
How to access the scheduler
To gain access to the scheduler tool, click into Cim 200 Works Orders > Enquiries > Scheduler.
As the scheduler is web based, you can access the tool from any device that is connected to the internet.

Navigating the scheduler
The tool is linked to the data stored in your SQL database and integrates with the planning and works order modules, updating each time MRP is ran or you select ‘Download’.
When a works order is created in Cim 200, the system will schedule the job to ensure the work is completed by the safety due date on the works order e.g. 29/10/2025.

The system uses the times on the works order routing, along with the production and operation calendars to determine when each operation should start and finish.
The Cim 200 Manufacturing scheduler uses the same calendars as Cim 200 to determine when a job can be scheduled. As you adjust the production plan, the Cim 200 scheduler considers the working calendar for each resource and will help you to schedule your jobs accordingly.

The tool will not let you schedule operations out of sequence, and it will not allow you to schedule a job during a period when you aren’t working.
The view is split into two parts based on which view you have selected. To adjust the split, drag the horizontal bars up or down. On this screen, you will be able to see the works order view. The top section contains the works orders and bottom section displays the resources.

The search option on the top left of the screen allows you to enter a keyword to filter the displayed data, and the date range can edited as required.
Additionally, the scroll bars in the centre of the screen allow you to view future activity. If you quickly need to return to the data for today, select the ‘Jump to Today’ button.

The display can be filtered, and you can add/remove buttons by right clicking on the column headings and selecting/deselecting as required.
Additionally, you can sort these columns in ascending or descending by selecting the upward or downward facing arrows next to the column title.

At the top of the screen you can see when the data was last refreshed, for example, it will show DATA REFRESHED: 26/03/2025 09:22.
The download button to the right of this date refreshes the data based on your current Cim 200 data.

Additional Buttons
To save any changes you have made in the scheduler, select the ‘Upload’ button (to the right of the ‘Download’ button).
The ‘Resource View’ option (to the right of the ‘Upload’ button) allows you to switch view and see what resources you have and how they are planned to be used.
The night and day mode (indicated by sun and moon icons to the right of the ‘Resource View’ button), can be selected based on your preference.
Arrowed lines connect each element on the works order allowing you to see related operations and sub assembly works orders.
The coloured circles on the left of each works order advise is the works order is going to be completed on time or not. Each operation is colour coded to help you identify any issues or conflicts.
These can be easily moved by dragging the item on this screen to a desired time and date.

Moving items may change the colour, based on the new position, and any knock on impacts related to demand, so you can immediately see how this impacts the completion of the works order.
If MRP recommendations are included, they are shown with an orange outline. You can not move an operation that has been locked. Locked operations have a padlock icon on the left of the block.

To mark an operation as locked or unlocked, right click on the operation and select which option you desire (Lock or Unlock).
As well as scheduling works orders, resources and MRP recommendation, you can also plan for ad-hoc/one off events, such as machine repairs, holidays sickness.
The Cim 200 Scheduler is a great interactive tool to help you quickly plan your operations and ensure your resources are utilised with efficiency.
