Installing Spindle for Sage 200
Getting up and running with Spindle Document Management for Sage 200 is quick and easy!
In this week’s tip, Sandra Wallace, Client Services Manager at PKF SCS, will talk you through the process of installing Spindle step-by-step.
Installing the Spindle Client
Open ‘File Explorer’ and navigate to your ‘Sage Server’ install folder.
In this environment, this is located here: This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Sage

Depending on your setup, the installation software may be located in one of the following folders:
- Smith Cooper
- Software
- Installer

Double click on ‘SpindleDocumentManagement10Client’. Once it opens, click ‘Next’.

If you’re happy with the terms, tick ‘I accept the terms in the license agreement’, click ‘Next’ and then ‘Next’ again.

Confirm the location where the Document Management client is to be installed and then click ‘Next’.

Check the shared folder for Spindle Document Distribution is correct. If you need to change the file location, click ‘Change’ and navigate to the appropriate folder.
Then, click ‘Next’.

The SDM server name and Core service port should be auto-populated, check they’re correct and click ‘Next’.

Click ‘Install’ and then wait for the installation to complete.
This may take several minutes and you may need to ask your IT to enter a password to continue.
Once complete, click ‘Finish’.

Spindle User Setup Wizard
Now you’ll go through the user setup wizard. To get started, click ‘Next’.

Enter all the user details as appropriate, then click ‘Next’.

Make sure the <DEFAULT WINDOWS PRINTER> has been selected and click ‘Next’.

The fax is set to NONE by default, or you can select yours from the list. Then, click ‘Next’.

Select the email platform you use, this is commonly set to Exchange/Office 365 (Microsoft)
Then, click ‘Next’.

Confirm the Microsoft Exchange Configuration settings are correct, then click ‘OK’.

If you’re integrating with CRM, select the option from the list. Then, click ‘Next’.

This screen advises you that 3 virtual printers will be added to your printers list. Click ‘Next’ and then ‘Finish’.
