Sicon Material and Resource Planning Warnings
Sicon Manufacturing includes a Material and Resource Planning (MRP) feature that reads the demand within the system, suggesting what needs to be ordered and manufactured.
When running MRP, it’s recommended to enable warnings. Some example warnings include purchase orders not arriving on time, traceable items past their use by date or works orders that may not be built on time to satisfy the demand.
In this tip of the week, we’ll show you how to use the warnings list generated by MRP.
Please note: MRP can only be run by 1 person at a time and users don’t need to log out of Sage 200 while it’s running. The person running MRP can minimise the screen while it’s running in order to use Sage 200 as normal.
To enable warnings in MRP, click the Options tab and tick Enable warnings.

Once MRP is complete, click the Results tab to view the warnings.
The warnings are set out in a clear and easy to understand list based on supplier and production lead times.

To sort the list by a particular column, click the column heading you want to sort by.
To search the list, right click the entries and select Find.

Double click on a warning to open the future stock movements, where you can view and take any remedial action required.
For example, contacting the supplier to discuss amendments to upcoming deliveries.

If there has been a change in delivery date, the user can amend the promised date on the purchase order to the date it’ll be arriving which will be considered in future MRP runs.
