Dynamic Pipeline Views: Introducing Zero-Stage Filtering in Sage CRM

November 17, 2025

Enhance Your Pipeline with this Helpful Sage CRM Feature!

If you’re using Sage CRM, you might have missed a handy option: ‘Show stages with zero records’. Introduced in Sage CRM v2023 R2, this helpful feature gives users and system administrators more control over how rectangular pipelines are displayed.

Whether you’re managing sales leads or tracking customer issues, the option helps you to focus on what matters most. Let’s explore how it works and why it’s worth enabling if you haven’t already.

Show Stages with Zero Records

This feature allows users and system administrators to hide the stages of a rectangular pipeline that do not include any records. It controls the cases pipeline, leads pipeline, and opportunities pipeline.

This helpful option allows you to declutter your pipeline view, help to identify areas of the pipeline where there is no activity, improve performance and over make it easier for you to focus on the most important stages.

In the example above, there’s a stage in the sales pipeline for “Sale Agreed” but there are not any opportunity records currently at that stage. In this situation, changing the ‘Show stages with zero records’ option to “No” will hide this stage from the pipeline view.

If you work in a specific role or industry where every opportunity doesn’t always follow a rigid predefined set of sales stages, this handy option allows you to declutter your pipeline view and make it easier for you to focus on what is most important.

Conversely, it might be important to you in your role to identify areas of the pipeline where there is no activity, to help with process control and streamlining. In this case you should leave the option set to “Yes”.

As always with Sage CRM, the goal is to put you, the user, in control as much as possible.

How to Access the Option

To use this feature in CRM, users should navigate to ‘Preferences’.

System administrators should go to ‘Administration’ > ‘Users’ > <user> > ‘User Preferences’.
