Whilst transferring data is always a massive consideration it is by no means the only thing to consider when choosing to migrate to Sage 200 or Sage Intacct.
Like any project, the process should always start with a planning phase. This is essential to establish timings, responsibilities, key areas for focus, data requirements and to ultimately produce a plan for all parties to work with.
If you are migrating from Sage 50, you have the choice of migrating all of your data including all historical transactions from any chosen point in time. Alternatively, some clients like to take the opportunity to “start again” with a clean dataset, removing old stock items, customers or restructuring the nominal ledger.
With regard to migrating to Sage 200 from other systems, we have experience of migrating multiple alternative solutions. To assist with the migration of your data we have a variety of tools, provided by Sage and built by ourselves, to ensure the project runs smoothly and in line with what we have agreed with you.
Once the technicalities have been agreed upon and put in progress, then it’s time to consider the people element.
At PKF Smith Cooper Systems, we understand that a change of system can cause concern and uncertainty for users.
Thus, whilst training and testing the new system are crucial to a successful implementation, equally important is creating an environment where users are comfortable and confident in working alongside our consultancy team and support desk.
Once we ‘Go Live’ our consultants will be onsite for the physical live migration and then to handhold users for the first few days of use. From there, we also have a smooth handover process to our Support team. You will be allocated a dedicated support consultant while you become comfortable with your new system and processes.
