Support, Sales, Consultancy, Marketing and Development. These are more than just departments at PKF Smith Cooper Systems – they are teams of people that have brought the company to where it is today.
Many of you may not have interacted with any of these departments or you may have interacted with them all! Either way, this series is intended to introduce you to the people behind the titles and give you insight into the people who make up Team PKF SCS.
Today, we’re hearing from Jennifer McNiven. She’s one of our Sage Consultants – and if you’re a customer of ours then there’s a chance you’ll speak to her!
Keep reading to find out more about Jennifer and how her PKF SCS journey began.
We have also featured a range of other team members, so to catch up on our past articles click here.
How did your journey start at PKF SCS?
In the later part of last year, I had been made redundant from my previous role and Chris Smith reached out on LinkedIn. The rest happened very quickly and here I am.
How does working for PKF SCS compare with other Sage Business Partners that you’ve worked with in the past?
PKF SCS is a much bigger Sage Business Partner than the ones I have worked with before meaning there are a lot more consultants and knowledge for me to learn from which is great. The power of shared knowledge is the best!
What’s your philosophy when it comes to working with customers?
I like to give the best service that I can whilst passing on accurate knowledge. It’s great to be out on site again too as I can offer so much more when I’m actually in the customer’s environment and can see areas for improvement just by being there. Offering top tips that instantly make a difference is very satisfying.
What are the challenges that you’ve had to tackle over the last year in your role?
Getting used to investigating issues with different software such as Sicon and Draycir programs – but again, because we as a team are so helpful, I have been able to use the expertise of my colleagues to help with this.
What professional achievement are you proudest of?
Having come into technology later in life, I amaze myself every day with some of the sentences I say from the knowledge I have learned, however the experience I have gained having worked in many industries and countries is something I am very proud of.
What business goals are you looking forward to achieving in the next year?
Becoming a master of more areas of Sage 200 and its add-ons. It can be quite a minefield!
That is all for this time around, thank you very much for reading and a huge thank you to Jennifer for sparing the time to answer our questions!
