Sage 200 2019 & 2020 End of Support

In January 2023, Sage 200 2020 R1, R2 and Sage 200 Summer 2019 will go into ‘end of support’ status.

Every Autumn, Sage places older versions of Sage 200 into ‘extended support’, and another version reaches ‘end of life’ status. This is something that is detailed in their support policy and is standard industry practice for various technology companies.

Currently, Sage 200 2020 R1, R2 and Sage 200 Summer 2019 are in ‘extended support’ status. This means that Sage has withdrawn their support, updates and upgrades for these versions. But in January 2023, the status of the above versions will change again and reach ‘end of support’.

What does this mean for my business?

Although the above versions of Sage 200 won’t be supported after January 2023, the system will not stop working. Additionally, the Smith Cooper team will continue to support you on a day-to-day basis. You also don’t need to worry about ISV upgrades (e.g Sicon, Draycir); these have their own life cycle, separate to Sage software.

That said, it is important that you start to consider upgrading to the latest version of Sage 200 as soon as is practical.

What do I need to do?

If you’re staying with Sage 200 Professional but would like to consider moving your software to the cloud, Sage recently launched a new hosting option for Sage 200 Professional. This means you’re now able to host the solution in the cloud with Microsoft Azure.

Alternatively, you can look to migrate to Sage 200 Standard or Sage Intacct depending on your company’s requirements.

Please contact your account manager to discuss your options.
