Like other Sage add-on providers, Cim is constantly looking to its customers to inform updates to its software.

It’s with this in mind that the release of Cim50 v2023 has been announced. The update will be available from Monday 31st October and includes many additions requested by customers.

The features of this release have been designed to help users keep control of costs and continue to make a profit in the tough economic climate we’re currently operating in.

There are over 40 new features in this release, from major new items such as quotation re-costing, through to minor screen changes to display pertinent information where it’s needed most.

In this post, we’re running down the top 5 most important updates of this new release, and how they’ll help you.

1. Archive Bills of Materials

You can now archive bills of material. This means you can keep a record of the bill of material, while marking associated stock records as inactive – keeping your quotations tidy, and making them easier to manage.

Viewing archived materials is easy, and has as much detail as a live BOM. And if you want to reinstate of bill of material, that’s no issue either – it can be on-the-fly, or from the archived bill of material itself.

2. Quotation Recosting

One of the most frequent requests was the ability to re-cost a quotation based on the current cost prices of the items in the quote. In this newest update, you can do this from the Quotations list view, meaning a lower chance of errors.

3. Subcontracting Improvements

Not only has the overall performance improved (e.g quicker list loading), but you can now view and search for specific purchase orders, or orders for a specific supplier, from the subcontracting list. This means you can dispatch or receive goods by purchase order or supplier as needed – making your process more streamlined and efficient.

4. Alerts Integration

When you’re managing stock, it’s easy to lose track of tasks. That’s why alerts are so helpful – and why Cim50 v2023 has extended Alerts functionality, so that it’s now available when receiving purchase orders. In this new version, you’re able to define an embedded or pop-up alert when an item is being receipted from purchase orders in Cim50.

5. Sales Order Demand Descriptions

Re-entering descriptions on sales orders is a boring, unproductive process. But not with Cim50 v2023 – instead, descriptions entered on a sales order are automatically pulled through into the Planning module when reading sales order demands.

It can also be carried through to any MRP Recommendations generated from that
demand, and onto the subsequent works orders generated from the recommendation. This saves you time and headaches, as you know exactly what each sales order is at a glance.
